These terms are the agreement between you and SkysSense for the use of skyssense.com and the SkysSense Android app. You accept them when you create an account; if you use SkysSense without an account, they apply to that use as far as relevant. Please also read the Legal notice and the Privacy policy.
1. The service
SkysSense shows aircraft near a place using public ADS-B data, reads them out by voice and offers community features (photos, profiles, following and ranking) to people with an account. It is free. It is a hobby and information tool: it isn't an official source and must never be used for navigation or safety (see the Legal notice).
2. Accounts
You can use the radar without an account. To create one you must be at least 14 years old.
One account per person. The account is personal and can't be shared, sold or transferred.
The information you give must be true (especially your email). Your alias is public if you choose a public profile: it can't impersonate anyone, be offensive, or infringe other people's rights or trademarks.
Keep your password safe and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
Accounts not used for 24 months are deleted, after an email warning one month before.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
use SkysSense for anything illegal, or to follow, locate or harass specific people;
use it to interfere with aviation or airport operations, or in any way that puts flight safety at risk;
take photos in places or ways that are forbidden (restricted areas, airport security zones, drones where they aren't allowed) or break the law to get them;
extract data in bulk, use robots or scrapers, reuse the databases, or access SkysSense other than through its interface;
overload, attack, probe or bypass the security of SkysSense or of its data sources, or reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows;
upload content you don't have the rights to, that shows identifiable people without their consent, or that is illegal, violent, sexual, discriminatory, defamatory or unrelated to aviation;
send spam, advertising or misleading content, or create accounts to manipulate the ranking or likes;
use SkysSense or its data for commercial purposes without our written permission.
4. Availability
We do our best to keep SkysSense running, but we can't guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. It depends on third party data sources and providers that may fail or change their conditions. We may carry out maintenance, and change, limit or stop features, telling you in advance when the change is important and it's possible to do so.
5. Your photos
You keep your rights. The photos you upload are still yours.
Licence to SkysSense. By uploading a photo you give SkysSense a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, reproduce, adapt the format of (resize, crop, compress) and show it in SkysSense (the website, the app and the previews created when someone shares it), with your credit, for as long as it is published. The licence ends when you delete the photo or your account, except for copies that take a short time to disappear from backups and caches.
What you confirm. That you took the photo or hold the rights to it; that no identifiable person appears without their consent (if people appear, they must not be recognisable, or have agreed); and that it was taken lawfully.
Hidden data. Photos are re-encoded on your device before uploading, which removes data such as the camera's GPS position.
Review. Every photo is reviewed before publication. We may reject photos that don't meet these terms or aren't of the aircraft indicated.
Deleting. You can delete any of your photos from your profile at any time.
6. Moderation and measures
We may act on content or accounts that break these terms or the law, in proportion to how serious it is and whether it is repeated:
rejecting or removing the content;
a warning;
temporarily limiting features (uploading photos, public profile);
suspending or closing the account, for serious or repeated breaches.
Before deciding we take into account the facts, the context and, when useful, what the person has to say. We don't use automated systems to take these decisions. Whoever sends manifestly unfounded reports repeatedly may have that option suspended after a warning.
7. Reports, decisions and appeals
Point of contact. For users and authorities (Digital Services Act): [email protected], in Spanish or English.
How to report. Use Report on any photo or profile, or write to the address above explaining what the content is, where it is and why you think it's illegal or against these terms, with your name and email. Please confirm your report is made in good faith.
Acknowledgement. You get a reference number straight away. We review the report diligently and tell you what we decided.
Reasons. If we remove or limit your content or account, we tell you by email what we did, why (the fact and the rule concerned) and how to appeal, unless the law forbids it.
Appeal. You can disagree with any decision, whether you reported or were reported, by replying to that email or writing to the contact address within 6 months. It's free, a person reviews it, and we reverse the decision if it wasn't justified. You can also go to the courts or, where available, to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body.
8. Intellectual property
SkysSense, its name, logo, design and code belong to its owner. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use it for private purposes under these terms. The data sources and their licences are listed in the Legal notice.
9. Paid features
A paid plan ("Captain") is being prepared but isn't available yet, and no payment can be made. Before it is offered, its price, duration, renewal, cancellation and right of withdrawal will be shown clearly and must be accepted before paying.
10. Liability
SkysSense is provided free of charge and as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for damages arising from errors or gaps in third party data, interruptions, loss of content caused by third party providers, or decisions taken based on the information shown. You are responsible for the content you publish and for how you use SkysSense. Nothing in these terms limits liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for damage to life or health, or your rights as a consumer.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using SkysSense at any time and delete your account from Account → Danger zone, which erases your data as the Privacy policy explains. We may close accounts as described in section 6, or if SkysSense stops operating, in which case we'll tell you in advance whenever possible.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll publish the new version with its date and number. For important changes we'll let you know in SkysSense or by email at least 15 days before they apply. To keep using your account you'll be asked to accept the new version; if you don't agree, you can delete your account before it applies. Previous versions are kept on request.
13. General clauses
If any clause is found invalid, the rest remain in force.
Not exercising a right at a given moment doesn't mean giving it up.
These terms, together with the Legal notice, the Privacy policy and the Cookie policy, are the whole agreement about SkysSense.
They are available in Spanish and English. If the versions differ, the one in your language prevails when you are a consumer; otherwise, the Spanish one.
14. Applicable law and courts
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, the courts of your place of residence will hear any dispute, and you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. The European Online Dispute Resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025.
3. Uso aceptable
Te comprometes a no:
usar SkysSense para nada ilegal, ni para seguir, localizar o acosar a personas concretas;
usarlo para interferir en la aviación o en la operación de aeropuertos, ni de ninguna forma que ponga en riesgo la seguridad aérea;
hacer fotos en lugares o de formas prohibidas (zonas restringidas, zonas de seguridad aeroportuaria, drones donde no se permiten) ni saltarte la ley para conseguirlas;
extraer datos de forma masiva, usar robots o scrapers, reutilizar las bases de datos ni acceder a SkysSense por otra vía que no sea su interfaz;
sobrecargar, atacar, sondear o eludir la seguridad de SkysSense o de sus fuentes de datos, ni aplicar ingeniería inversa más allá de lo que permite la ley;
subir contenido sobre el que no tengas derechos, en el que aparezcan personas identificables sin su consentimiento, o que sea ilegal, violento, sexual, discriminatorio, difamatorio o ajeno a la aviación;
enviar spam, publicidad o contenido engañoso, ni crear cuentas para manipular el ranking o los me gusta;
5. Tus fotos
Conservas tus derechos. Las fotos que subes siguen siendo tuyas.
Licencia a SkysSense.
